How do I find duplicate records in Airtable?

Can Filla merge duplicate records and keep the most complete data?

Yes. Filla's merge action combines duplicate records into a single primary record. The merge process checks every field in the primary record. If a field is empty in the primary but has a value in one of the duplicates, Filla fills the gap automatically. After all empty fields are filled, the duplicate records are deleted. You can choose which record becomes the primary: the newest, the oldest, or the one with the most populated fields. This ensures no data is lost during deduplication. The merged record is always the most complete version available.

What is fuzzy matching for duplicates?

Fuzzy matching uses the Jaro-Winkler algorithm to detect records that are similar but not identical. This catches duplicates that exact matching would miss: "Jon Smith" vs "John Smith", "123 Main St" vs "123 Main Street", or records with minor typos. Filla calculates a similarity score between 0 and 1 for each pair, and you set a threshold (typically 0.85-0.95) to control how strict the matching is.
