How do I convert URLs to attachments in Airtable?

Can I download multiple files per record?

Yes. Filla supports comma-separated and newline-separated URLs in a single text field. If a record contains multiple URLs like "https://example.com/file1.pdf, https://example.com/file2.pdf", both files are downloaded and added as separate attachments to the record. Each URL is processed independently, so one failed download does not affect the others. The {index} token in filename templates lets you number each file within a record for clear identification.

What happens to existing attachments when I run the tool?

Filla offers two modes. Append mode adds the downloaded files alongside any existing attachments in the field without removing anything. Replace mode deletes all existing attachments in the field and replaces them with the newly downloaded files. Choose Append for incremental imports where you want to accumulate files over multiple runs. Choose Replace when the URL points to an updated version of a file and you want the attachment field to contain only the latest version. The mode is configured per tool and applies to all records processed in the run.

Can I customize the filenames of downloaded files?

Yes. Filla supports dynamic filename templates that combine @field references with built-in tokens. @field references let you insert any Airtable field value into the filename: client names, project IDs, dates, or any other text field. Built-in tokens include {filename} for the original filename from the URL, {ext} for the file extension, {index} for attachment sequence number, and {count} for total attachments in the record. For example, the template "@{Client}-@{Date}-{index}.{ext}" might produce "Acme-Corp-2026-03-19-1.pdf". File extensions are always preserved automatically.
