What a favicon is

A favicon is the small icon that appears in the browser tab when a respondent has your form open. By default, the Filla favicon is shown. You can replace it with your own brand icon.

How to set a favicon

1

Open the Form Settings Sidebar

In the form editor, click anywhere on the canvas background (not on a field) to open the form-level settings in the right panel.
2

Find the Favicon setting

Look for the Favicon upload field in the appearance section.
3

Upload your favicon

Click the upload area and select your favicon file. Supported formats: ICO, PNG, SVG.

Favicon requirements

  • Recommended size: 32x32px (standard favicon size)
  • Supported formats: ICO, PNG, SVG
  • Square dimensions: Favicons must be square or they may display oddly in some browsers
Use a PNG or SVG version of your logo mark (the icon portion, not the full wordmark). A 32x32px square works best. ICO format is the most universally supported, but PNG and SVG work fine in modern browsers.

Where the favicon appears

  • In browser tabs when the form is open
  • In browser bookmarks if a respondent bookmarks the form
  • In browser history
The favicon appears in both the standalone form view and embedded forms (the tab icon is controlled by the parent page when embedded).

Common questions

Browsers aggressively cache favicons. After uploading a new one, clear your browser cache or open the form in a private/incognito window to see the new favicon.
Technically the browser may show the animation, but it is generally not recommended. Animated favicons can be distracting. Use a static PNG or ICO instead.
No. When your form is embedded in another website, the browser tab shows the favicon of the parent page, not the Filla form’s favicon.
