Download PDF - Filla Help Center

The Download PDF widget adds a button to your form that generates and downloads a PDF when clicked. You can use an auto-generated layout, a custom document template, or a fillable PDF with mapped fields.

When to use Download PDF

Thank you pages where respondents want a copy of their submission
Application forms that need a printable receipt
Order forms where a PDF confirmation is useful
Any form where the respondent should keep a record of what they submitted

Settings

Setting	Type	Description
Button label	Variable text	Text shown on the button. Default: “Download my submission (PDF)”. Supports `@` variables.
Description	Rich text with variables	Optional help text shown below the button
PDF template	Select	How the PDF content is generated (see template modes below)
Document template	Document template editor	Design a formatted document with field variables. Only visible when template is “Document template”
PDF template	PDF template editor	Upload a fillable PDF and map fields to positions. Only visible when template is “Fillable PDF”
Show/hide rules	Filter builder	Only show this button when certain conditions are met

Creates a clean PDF with a table of all field labels and their submitted values. No configuration needed.Best for: quick receipts, simple confirmation copies.

Design a branded, formatted document using a rich text editor. Insert field values with @ references to create professional-looking PDFs.Best for: invoices, contracts, branded confirmations.

Place this widget on your thank you page so respondents can download their receipt after submitting.
